The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
- Adur: The byelection in St Mary’s ward on 5 December was won by Stephen Chipp. Conservative hold.
- Mansfield: The byelection in Netherfield ward on 4 December was won by Lesley Wright. Labour gain from Mansfield Independent Forum.
- Rossendale: The byelection in Longholme ward on 4 December was won by Annie McMahon. Labour hold.
- Thurrock: The byelection in Aveley and Uplands ward on 4 December was won by Tim Aker MEP. UK Independence Party hold.
Changes of allegiance
- North Somerset: Arthur Terry, who was elected for the Conservatives in Portishead East ward, has left the party to sit as an Independent councillor.
- Stoke-on-Trent: Neil Day, who was elected for the Labour Party in Blurton West and Newstead ward, has left the party to sit as a non-aligned councillor.
- Wyre: Don McNaughton, who was elected for the Conservatives in Bourne ward, has joined the UK Independence Party.
New vacancies
- Carmarthenshire: Hengoed division, after the death of Labour councillor George Edwards. Term ends 2017.
- Torbay: Blatchcombe ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Jeanette Richards. As her term was due to end in May next year, there will be no byelection for a replacement.
- Waverley: Cranleigh East ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Janet Somerville. As her term was due to end in May next year, there will be no byelection for a replacement.
- Wealden: Buxted and Maresfield, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Norman Buck. As his term was due to end in May next year, there will be no byelection for a replacement.
Dates for byelections
- Fife: The byelection due in Kirkcaldy East ward will be held on 22 January 2015.
