The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Results

  • Conwy: The byelection in Abergele Pensarn division on 18 September was won by Rick Stubbs, the husband of the retiring councillor. Labour hold.
  • Durham: The byelection in Crook division on 18 September was won by Maureen Stanton. Labour gain from Independent.
  • Oxford: The byelection in Quarry and Risinghurst ward on 18 September was won by Chewe Munkonge. Labour hold.

Changes of allegiance

New vacancies

  • Chichester: Rogate ward, after the death of Conservative councillor John Kingston. Term ends 2015.
  • East Riding of Yorkshire: Bridlington Central and Town ward, after the death of veteran Social Democratic Party councillor Ray Allerston, one of the few remaining representatives of his party. Term ends 2015.
  • Lichfield: St John’s ward, after the death of Conservative councillor John Wilks. Term ends 2015.

Dates for byelections

  • Castle Point: The byelection due in Canvey Island East ward will be held on 30 October.
  • Chichester: The byelection due in Rogate ward will be held on 23 October.
  • Durham: The byelection due in Burnopfield division will be held on 23 October.
  • Durham: The byelection due in Evenwood division will be held on 23 October.
  • Neath Port Talbot: The byelection due in Sandfields East division will be held on 30 October.
  • Shepway: The byelection due in Folkestone Harvey West ward will be held on 23 October.
