South Kesteven district council: Phil Dilks, who was elected in Deeping St James ward with no description (having represented the area for eight years as a Labour county councillor), has now joined the Labour group on the district council.
Norfolk county council: Sue Whitaker, candidate of the Labour Party, was elected county councillor for Lakenham division on 24 November. She gained from the Liberal Democrats a seat she held from 2001 to 2009.
Adur district council: Vacancy in Eastbrook ward following the disqualification of Liberal Democrat councillor Gavin Ayling, who failed to attend any meetings of the council in six months. The term ends May next year.
Ashford borough council: Rebecca Rutter was elected councillor for Beaver ward on 24 November, holding the seat for the Labour Party.
Hampshire county council: Vacancy in Winchester Southern Parishes division after the death of Conservative councillor and Vice-Chairman of the council Frederick Allgood who was also a former Mayor of Winchester. Term ends 2013.
Portsmouth city council: Vacancy in Paulsgrove ward after the resignation of Conservative councillor Mike Blake. As he resigned within six months of his term ending in May next year, no byelection will be held.
Wycombe district council: Alex Slater was elected councillor for Hazlemere South ward on 24 November. He wins for the Liberal Democrats a seat previously held by the Conservatives.
Cornwall council: Dr Loveday Jenkin was elected councillor for Wendron division on 24 November. She stood for Mebyon Kernow [Sons of Cornwall] and won a seat previously held by an Independent councillor; her win brings Mebyon Kernow to five seats on the council.
Newport city council: Vacancy in Alway division after the death of veteran Labour councillor Ken Powell. Although a byelection could be called, the term will end in May and so it is expected that the seat will be left vacant.
Swansea city and county council: Vacancy in Castle division after the death of Labour councillor Barbara Hynes. Although a byelection could be called, the term will end in May and so it is expected that the seat will be left vacant.
Argyll and Bute council: Vacancy in Oban South and The Isles ward after the death of Scottish National Party councillor Donald McIntosh. As it is less than six months until the end of his term, no byelection can be called.
