Two councillors have had an enforced change of allegiance recently. Robert Benson, elected as a Conservative to Harrow borough council from Harrow Weald ward, pleaded guilty to having sex in a public lavatory on Wednesday and has been suspended from the Conservative group.
Jahangir Hanif, elected as a Scottish National Party councillor to Glasgow city council in Southside Central ward, has been suspended from the SNP group after being shown taking his children for AK47 practice on a family holiday.
