Eshaq Khan, who was elected to Slough Borough Council in Central ward in May 2007, has been convicted of electoral fraud and disqualified from being elected to a local authority by the Election court. He and his campaign were found to have submitted fraudulent applications for electoral registration and for postal votes. Former councillor Khan has also been expelled from the Conservative Party.

There is likely to be no separate byelection; instead there will be a double vacancy in the Central ward in the council election on 1 May.
