No byelections last week, but there are some coming up.
7 June
- Beeston Central (Broxtowe Borough Council). This is one of the wards which should have been elected on 3 May but was postponed because a candidate died. Labour won both seats in the ward in 2003.
- Burnham on Crouch North (Maldon District Council). A postponed poll. The Conservatives won the seat in 2003.
- North Worle (North Somerset). A postponed poll. The Liberal Democrats won it in 2003.

- Carterton North East (West Oxfordshire District Council). A postponed poll. The Conservatives won the ward in 2003, but their defending councillor died (see below).
- Carterton South West (Oxfordshire County Council), following the death of Keith Stone (Conservative) who was fighting for re-election in his district council seat. The term runs to 2009.
- Davenham and Moulton (Vale Royal District Council). A postponed poll. In 2003, the Conservatives won two seats and the Liberal Democrats, one.
- Meopham North (Gravesham Borough Council). A postponed poll. The Conservatives won both seats in 2003.
- Stowmarket North and Stowupland (Suffolk County Council), caused by the resignation of Conservative councillor Eleanor Ramsey. The term runs to 2009.
