Independent 2. Yorkshire cathedral city in the middle of an industrial, ex-mining area. The 'Rhubarb Triangle' is in the area, as are the power station of Ferrybridge and Kellingly colliery.

There is a byelection in Stanley and Outwood East on 12 October (held by Labour). Nick Farmer (Ossett) moved from UK Independence Party to Independent in June 2017.
