There are byelections in Bradwell ward and Newchapel ward on 14 December (both held by Labour). The Conservatives took over from Labour running the council in December 2017. Ken Owen (Holditch) moved from UK Independence Party to the Borough Independent Group in September 2017. David Woolley (Wolstanton) moved from 'Newcastle Independent' to Conservative in August 2017.
