The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.

Result

  • Knowsley: The byelection in Page Moss ward on 29 March was won by Del Arnall. Labour hold.

Changes of allegiance

New vacancies

  • Basildon: Pitsea South East ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Amanda Arnold. Term ends 2019.
  • Bolton: Bromley Cross ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Alan Wilkinson. Term ends 2020.
  • Cambridge: East Chesterton ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Margery Abbott. Term ends 2020.
  • Cherwell: Cropredy, Sibfords and Wroxton ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Ken Atack. Term ends 2019.
  • Daventry: Walgrave ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Ann Carter. Term ends 2019.
  • Gosport: Leesland ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Maria Diffey. Term ends 2020.
  • Great Yarmouth: Central and Northgate ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Lea Davis. Term ends 2019.
  • Halton: Halton: Halton View ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Stan Parker. Term ends 2019.
  • Havant: Hayling West ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Andy Lenaghan. Term ends 2019.

  • Liverpool: Everton ward, after the death of Labour councillor John McIntosh. His term was due to end in May so there will be no byelection.
  • Mid Devon: Cranmore ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Clarissa Slade who was elected just after her 18th birthday and was believed to be Britain’s youngest councillor. Term ends 2019.
  • Milton Keynes: Newport Pagnell South ward, after the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Derek Eastman. Term ends 2019.
  • North Hertfordshire: Letchworth Grange ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Clare Billing. Term ends 2020.
  • Oldham: Hollinwood ward, after the death of Labour councillor Brian Ames. Term ends 2020.
  • Reading: Church ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Paul Woodward. Term ends 2019.
  • Reading: Katesgrove ward, after the resignation of Labour councillor Matt Rodda, now Member of Parliament for Reading East. Term ends 2019.
  • Reading: Kentwood ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Tom Steele. Term ends 2019.
  • Reigate and Banstead: Horley West ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor David Jackson. Term ends 2019.
