The latest updates on local electoral information are as follows.
Results
Manchester: The byelection in Fallowfield ward on 27 July was won by Ali Ilyas. Labour hold.
North Dorset: The byelection in Blandford Central ward on 27 July was won by Nocturin Bilbo Laffayette Lacey-Clarke (Noc to his friends). Conservative gain from Independent.
West Lindsey: The byelection in Scotter and Blyton ward on 27 July was won by Bruce Allison. Conservative hold.
Thanet: Beverley Martin, who was elected for the UK Independence Party in Central Harbour ward, has joined the Conservatives. As a result the UK Independence Party have clearly lost their majority.
New vacancies
Epping Forest: Lower Sheering ward, after the death of Conservative councillor Gary Waller. Term ends 2019.
Lancaster: Halton with Aughton ward, after the resignation of Independent councillor Paul Woodruff. Term ends 2019.
Nottingham: Bulwell Forest ward, after the death of veteran Labour councillor Alan Clark. Term ends 2019.
Suffolk: St John’s division, after the resignation of Labour councillor Sandy Martin, now Member of Parliament for Ipswich. Term ends 2021.
West Dorset: Lyme Regis and Charmouth ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor George Symonds who has lost faith in the council leader. Term ends 2019.
Dates for byelections
Lancaster: The byelection due in Skerton West ward will be held on 7 September.
North Somerset: The byelection due in Weston-super-Mare North Worle will be held on 31 August.
Peterborough: The byelection due in Eye, Thorney and Newborough ward will be held on 7 September.
St Edmundsbury: A previous note that the byelection due in Chedburgh ward was to be held on 17 August was given in error. The byelection date has not yet been fixed.
Scarborough: The byelection due in Mulgrave ward will be held on Tuesday 29 August.
