The latest information about local electoral matters is as follows:

East of England

East Midlands

  • Charnwood borough council: There are two byelections on 24 October, in Loughborough Hastings ward after the resignation of Labour councillor Litu Choudhury, and in Shepshed West ward after the death of Conservative councillor and former Mayor Bernard Burr. Both terms end in 2015.
  • Corby borough council: Byelection on 7 November in Kingswood ward after the resignation of Labour councillor Maureen Forshaw due to ill health. Term ends 2015.
  • East Lindsey district council: Fiona Brown was elected councillor for Chapel St Leonards ward on 3 October. She wins for the Labour Party a seat previously held by a member of the East Lindsey Independent Group.
  • Harborough district council: Byelection on 7 November in Bosworth ward after the resignation of Conservative councillor Brian Smith. Term ends 2015.
  • Nottingham city council: There are two byelections on 7 November in Dales ward and Radford and Park ward. They follow the resignations respectively of Ken Williams for health reasons, and his wife Steph Williams, who is to care for him.

  • Bournemouth council: Byelection on 14 November in Winton East ward after the resignation of Conservative councillor Anniina Davie. Term ends 2015.
  • Taunton Deane district council: Federica Smith was elected councillor for Taunton Halcon ward on 3 October, holding the seat for the Liberal Democrats.
  • Teignbridge district council: Byelection on 24 October in Bovey ward after the resignation of veteran councillor Fernley Holmes, who was last elected as a Conservative but was sitting as an Independent councillor. Term ends 2015.

West Midlands

  • Herefordshire council: Byelection in Tupsley ward on 7 November after the resignation of It’s Our County councillor Alex Hempton-Smith. There is also a vacancy in Pontrilas ward after the resignation of Conservative councillor Russell Hamilton, a cabinet member until his departure. Both terms end in 2015.
  • South Staffordshire district council: Byelection on 10 October in Brewood and Coven ward, after the resignation of Conservative councillor Ivor Clay. Term ends 2015.
  • Stoke-on-Trent city council: Byelection on 14 November in Baddeley, Milton and Norton ward after the resignation of Andy Lilley, who was elected for the Labour Party but was sitting as an unaffiliated councillor. Term ends 2015.
