Just two defections this week. Andy Sloan, elected as a Liberal Democrat to Kingston-upon-Hull city council, has joined the Conservative group. Michael Johnson, a member of Blackburn with Darwen council, who was elected for the England First Party but then joined the For Darwen Party which went into coalition with the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats to run the council, has now left to sit as an Independent councillor; this move leaves the ruling coalition with the same number of seats as the opposition Labour Party.
