Just one byelection this week and one last week to report, none of which set the world on fire. On 26 July, the Liberal Democrats held their seat at Welshpool Gungrog ward of Powys, and on 2 August Labour held its seat in Town ward of Gosport borough council (thereby preserving its control of the council through an unofficial coalition with the Liberal Democrats).
